Liberty Elementary School District No.25 is pleased to announce its partnership with the Arizona Attorney General’s Office to provide comprehensive presentations to parents regarding relevant issues related to their students.

On March 29, Jillian Ashby, the community outreach officer for the Arizona Attorney General’s Office, spoke to parents about the dangers of e-cigarettes and vaping. They learned about common myths and perceptions students have surrounding vaping and of the potential risks it has, from bodily injuries to potential expulsion when they get to high school. School Resource Officer Eckert explained recent real-life scenarios on how vaping can disrupt a student’s future, particularly for youth going into high school.

The next parent night will discuss online safety. The community outreach officer’s presentation will cover general topics related to social media, including information on cyber-predators, sexting, cyber-bullying, popular apps, and social media websites.

Open to all families from the Liberty Elementary School District, the presentation will take place April 5 from 5 to 6 p.m. at Las Brisas Academy, 18211 W. Las Brisas Drive, Goodyear.
