BUCKEYE, Ariz. – The Liberty Elementary School District No. 25 school board meeting began this past Monday with a vote for a new president and vice president. Former Vice President Bryan Parks was voted as the board’s new President. Following in his footsteps the board elected Kris Kenyon to serve as the vice president. Both of these roles begin immediately.

“The District is excited to follow the lead of our newly organized Governing Board,” said LESD superintendent Dr. Cort Monroe. “President Parks has done a phenomenal job as our Vice President, and I am excited to see him lead the board in his new role.”

President Parks has been a board member since 2021 and has two years remaining on his term. He is a graduate of Wharton School of Business (MOOCs) and has over 35 years of experience in building and running technology and software companies; many from concept to a successful exit. As a CEO, President Parks has managed over 2000 employees and has significant experience in executive leadership, marketing, finance and business development. President Parks has two children in eighth grade within the Liberty Elementary School District No. 25.

“I first and foremost would like to thank my fellow board members for having confidence in me to lead the board during this transition,” said LESD 25 board president Bryan Parks. “This is not something I take lightly. We have accomplished a lot as a board over the last year, and that won’t stop anytime soon. This board will continue to be innovating focusing on student proficiency and teacher retention. It is exciting to watch our district rise above the rest as one of the top districts in the West Valley.”

Vice President Kris Kenyon joined the board last year. He currently serves as a contractor with the Arizona Department of Child Safety. Vice President Kenyon had four children, two of which are graduates of the Liberty Elementary School District No. 25, and one who is currently enrolled in Liberty. He is a devout Christian and puts his faith above all else. Along with being a Pastor, Vice President Kenyon has worked in many different fields: in the private sector, such as cabinet shops, the medical field, and the social services field. No matter what he is doing, he is always looking out for the best interest of parents and children.

“I would like to thank the board for having faith in me, but I would also like to thank my family for their support and I would like to thank God, because without Him, none of this would be possible,” said LESD 25 board vice president Kris Kenyon. “I have learned so much in the two years plus that I have been on this board and am proud and thankful to serve under President Parks and serve the students of the Liberty Elementary School District.”

The Liberty Elementary School Board is currently scheduled to meet four more times this calendar year; one more time prior to the November election, and the Board will continue to function with four members at this time. The newly elected board members from November’s election will be officially sworn in prior to the January 13, 2025 regular meeting. The new members will then take their seats on the Board at the January 13, 2025 regular meeting. At that time, the board will reorganize once again for the 2025 calendar year.
