Blue Horizons Elementary School is our newest school, located in the northern area of our school district. The school will open in August 2021 to grades K-5, and the school will expand to serve grades K-8 students in August 2022. Blue Horizons is a K-8 community, career explorations school. Relevance is at the heart of learning at Blue Horizons. Students deepen their core content knowledge and skills through career exploration projects and connections to career pathways. Blue Horizons utilizes rigorous district curriculum to fully equip students for high school and beyond.
Estrella Mountain Elementary School is home to the Primary and Middle Years International Baccalaureate (IB) Program. The IB program fosters critical thinking and builds problem-solving skills and a healthy appetite for learning and excellence. Freedom Elementary is a communications arts K-8 school. Students apply their learning by communicating via various media to publish and broadcast their work, with an emphasis on public performance. Through district curriculum integrated with communications projects, our students are fully equipped for high school and beyond. Westar Elementary School features an educational program developed to prepare students for college and graduate study in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). In addition to subject-specific learning, STEM learning aims to foster inquiring minds, logical reasoning, and collaboration skills. Students learn and apply grade-level skills in math, reading, science, and social studies to make learning meaningful and engaging. Students also learn through hands-on inquiry to think critically and develop innovative solutions to complex issues that affect their lives and community.
