Supplemental Resource Meetings
Supplemental Resource Meetings
Transparency surrounding the Liberty Elementary School District’s curriculum is important to LESD25. That’s why the district is seeking parents and community members to participate on a supplemental resource committee. The mission of the committee is to review the quality of supplemental materials to ensure that resources used for instruction meet district criteria.
Supplementary Instructional Resource is defined as an instructional resource intended as a supplement to the primary instructional resources to enrich and enhance the learning and is not intended to be used consistently for a subject and grade level for nearly all of the students. Supplementary Instructional Resources may also serve to support gaps in curriculum alignment of primary instructional resources.
The following supplemental resource materials are now on display at the LESD’s district office for a 60-day review: iCivics (4-8 Social Studies), Library of Congress (6-8 Social Studies), Pew Research Center (6-8 Social Studies), and AZ Clean Elections (4-8 Social Studies). We welcome the community to inspect this aspect of the LESD’s curriculum and provide feedback. QR codes are provided for you to access samples of the materials, so please bring your phones. Please stop by and let us know your thoughts! Access the review page here.
During the April 29, 2024, LESD Governing Board meeting, "We the People", a supplemental resource for seventh and eighth grade history and social science, was approved for 60-day public review. This resource fills a curriculum gap for Civics Education. To review this resource, community members are invited to visit the Jerry Rovey District Complex at 19871 W Fremont Rd, Buckeye, AZ. Digital access to the resource is available by clicking HERE. After reviewing, please complete this FEEDBACK FORM.
