Primary Resource Adoption Committee

Interested in Participating?

Transparency surrounding the Liberty Elementary School District’s curriculum is important to the Liberty ESD. That’s why the district has sought parents and community members to participate on a primary resource adoption committee to review various learning materials before potentially adopting them into our curriculum.

A primary resource is defined as an instructional resource intended as the basic source of learning material for a subject and grade level that covers at least half of the essential standards of the subject and grade level and is intended for nearly all students within the subject and grade level.  The mission of the committee is to review the quality of materials to ensure that resources used for instruction meet district criteria. LESD is holding the following meetings:

  • February 1st
  • February 15th

The K-8 Mathematics Primary Instructional Resource Committee has worked together to identify two resources to be placed on a 60-day review to gather public input:

  • Greatminds: Eureka ²

  • OpenUp Resources:  Illustrative Mathematics

Both resources are available to review in person at the Liberty Elementary School District office at 19871 W. Fremont Road in Buckeye from February 14th-May 1st.

In May, the Liberty ESD administration will bring forward a recommendation to the Governing Board to consider adopting one of the resources as a primary instructional resource for K-8 mathematics.
