Special Education

At Liberty Elementary School District, we believe every child deserves a high-quality education tailored to their unique needs. Our Special Education Services are dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment where students with disabilities can thrive alongside their peers. With a team of compassionate and experienced educators, we develop individualized education programs (IEPs) that support and challenge each student. Our commitment to using evidence-based practices, cutting-edge assistive technologies, and ongoing professional development ensures that we can meet a wide array of learning needs.

It is our goal to properly identify and serve all preschool and school-aged children with disabilities who reside in our district.

The Liberty Elementary School District will make the following services available to all children with disabilities residing within the district:

  • A free, appropriate public education (FAPE)

  • A fair, accurate, and unbiased evaluation to assist in deciding special education and related services

  • An individualized determination regarding a child’s eligibility for special education and related services by a properly constituted team

  • An Individualized Education Program (IEP) based upon each child’s individual capabilities and needs

  • An education in the least restrictive setting in which each child can make educational progress

  • The same array of academic, nonacademic, physical education, and extracurricular activity services that is available to children without disabilities
