Student Discipline Matrix

The discipline matrix, as approved by the LESD Governing Board, is used as a guide for administrators to apply consequences and allow for progressive discipline to occur. As with any discipline infraction, a variety of circumstances and evidence must be considered while assigning a consequence. The primary goal of our discipline structure is to ensure that students have the opportunity to understand that actions have consequences. Furthermore, it provides students the opportunity to correct their behavior and maximize their access to teaching and learning. Administrators have the discretion to apply a variation of approved consequences for infractions while operating in alignment with the discipline matrix.
