Election Information

The Liberty Elementary School District Governing Board called for a November 3, 2020 override election at the June 1, 2020, Governing Board meeting. A question will be added on the November 3rd election ballot to ask voters for continued support of the current 10% maintenance and operation (M&O) override that has been in place since 1983. This is a continuation override which will maintain programs that have been in place with prior year's override approvals.

Arizona school district governing boards can call elections for three purposes in accordance with state statutes:
  • Bond authorization elections—to finance the acquisition of permanent equipment and facilities

  • Maintenance and operations override elections—to pay for additional salaries and supplies that supplement the State Formula Capital spending authority

  • Capital override elections—to purchase equipment that supplements the State Formula Capital spending authority

Liberty Elementary has a history of voter support. The information provided by Liberty Elementary School District is A.R.S. § 15-511 compliant and conforms to guidelines set forth by the attorney general regarding activities prohibited under this section.
