TRADITIONAL DELIVERY WITH MITIGATION FOR IN-PERSON STUDENTS WILL CONTINUE UNTIL AT LEAST NOVEMBER 19TH

On October 12th, the Governing Board approved revisions to the Liberty District Health Benchmarks to guide instructional delivery models for in-person learning. While no changes were made to the three benchmarks or the data sets, a change was made to the requirement to meet two of the three health benchmarks, at the minimal threshold for two consecutive weeks, for traditional delivery with mitigation strategies, and the requirement to meet all three benchmarks for traditional delivery without mitigation strategies. The district met two of three health benchmarks at the minimal level for two consecutive weeks on 9/13 and 9/20, published on county and state school data dashboards on 10/1 and 10/8. Schools opened in traditional delivery with mitigations on 10/22.

In a prior Board meeting, the Board approved that the level of COVID spread in either Maricopa County or the Liberty Elementary School District (whichever is lower) would need to be in the moderate threshold for at least two health benchmarks for three consecutive weeks before the district would announce a shift from traditional delivery with mitigations to hybrid or substantial delivery to occur one week later. The earliest a change in delivery would occur would be November 19th.
